This Shiraz, from 400 vines planted in 1881 is Barossa history in a bottle. Hand-picked from the vineyard still managed by the sixth generation of the Schiller family, only 1,398 bottles have been produced.

First vintage produced was in 2008 by Jason.  If you are looking for a back vintage to celebrate a special occasion or milestone send us an email, and we will see if we have that vintage available!

More Information

"Stick your nose in the glass here, and could it be anything else but Barossan? Circa 1880s-planted
vines too, no less. Deep, plummy fruit tones with hints of dark chocolate, fruitcake spice, a wash of oak, sour cherry, blackberry conserve, licorice and
earth. Full bodied and packed with powdery tannin before a chocolatey, spicy finish that has a slow fade." Dave Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion.

95 Points -  Aaron Brasher - The Real Review - 21th September 2024

Incredibly dark, inky, opaque and impenetrable in colour. Decadent and lifted aromas of stewed plum, mulberry, sweet spice, oak, charcuterie, graphite and bramble. There's a whole lot going on here. Dense, brooding and powerful in flavour. Lashings of plush, fleshy dark fruits, spice, sweet, nutmeggy oak, licorice and dark chocolate. There's firm tannin and bright acidity keeping the opulent fruit in check and the length has power, poise and balance. Big time Barossa.

95 Points - The Vintage Journal Barossa Wine Guide 2024, reviews from Andrew Caillard MW and Andrea Pritzker MW

Deep crimson. Lifted dark chocolate, cedar dark berry aromas with smoky notes. Generously concentrated and inky deep with fresh blackberry, plum, dark chocolate, panforte flavours, fine chewy textures and long fresh acidity. Very good volume density and torque. Drink 2025–2036
